The Stories behind my animals

My animals all have different stories. It's been so cool to see all of my animals mesh together as a family.

My cat is Phantom and he is the best black cat that anyone can ask for. I am so happy I got to take him with me when I first moved out of my parents house and into my house. He was a stray who adopted us by walking into my parents house long ago. Phantom was mostly an outside cat who came into the house when he wanted to. People always told me before I moved out that I would not have luck training an outside cat to stay inside and use the cat box. They were wrong because I've been in my house for 3 years and my cat has been an in doors cat and he uses the cat box just fine. I think having my cat indoors has really been a good change because he has a sweeter side and he really loves to snuggle as close as he can to me. Yes my cat still loves play time and he will try hard to play with one of my dogs. He is over all the best cat!!

My dog Kenya is a "princess" meaning that she tries to get everything she wants. Kenya is a great dog because even when no one wanted her she still learned to forgive and forget her past and she learned to move on in my house. I rescued Kenya from the local shelter 2 years ago. I had my heart set on a lab or a golden but when I went to the shelter I walked into the area of the shelter where she was located she stool my heart by laying there so sweet in a ball while other dogs were busy barking. Kenya had so many issues against her before I adopted her. When I first brought her home I taught her that it was ok to trust again and to love again. Soon after I brought Kenya home she and my cat became best friends. They spent every min playing with each other and kissing each other. They even layed as close as they could to each other. From then to now Kenya has come so far in her life. She listens to everything I tell her which is great. I love my dog Kenya because even though people might judge her in certian ways she is still my "love bug princess."

The story of my dog Dash....Ok so I thought I was happy with two animals. Then I started feeling empty and knowing that I had room for 1 more animal. I searched and thought about what my third animal would be. I was thinking about fish,a small animal, or a small dog. Then when I was going through this mixed up time I heard on the local news that the local shelter went to another state to rescue so many little dogs from this puppy mill. When I heard the story I knew in my heart that I would do great in taking care of one of those dogs for the rest of it's life. The shelter even hand picked which homes each dog would be adopted to since there were 100's of applications on each dog. I put an application on one little dachshund but didn't get to adopt the dog,,but later on found out that the person the shelter picked called and didn't want the dog. I was so mad when I heard that.. So after I didn't get the first dog I tried to adopt I went back to the shelter and saw this little dachshund in the cage by himself(Dash). The shelter staff said he was one of the dogs people didn't really want to adopt(he is 6 years old) so knowing me I had to visit with him. When I visited with him I felt like he picked me right away because he came up to me and sat in my lap. In the end there was my application on Dash and 1 other application but I got hand picked to adopt the little dog. I'm so very thankful that I got to adopt him because when he came home to my house he put trust in me in the first 3 days he was in my house. Yes Dash is only 11 pounds(he is smaller then my cat). He has come so far in so little time. Dash acts like a clown because when he sees me coming towards him he jumps up and down runs every where. He always wakes up happy. I wake up each day loved and blessed that the local shelter rescued so many dogs from the puppy mill and that I got to adopt the most perfect little dog from the shelter.

Yes I am done adopting animals now!!
